Autumnwind lay still, her flank moving up and down to a gentle beat, her eyes eyes shut tight to block out the wintery sunlight that was slipping through the bamboo roof of the warriors den, threatening to disturb her from the peaceful daydream.
She wasn't asleep, not as such. Rather she was half-asleep, still trying desperately to summon the effort to remove herself from her warm bed, into what she knew would be a cold and damp morning.
((YAY! My first post on the forum! Was it any good???))

[looks great]
An unusual pair of eyes seeped into the dark, cold warriors den. The brown tom had not been in here for ages, but his own, lonely den was no compare to the more crowded den. Ghoststar walked in. Memories played back as he received his odd name, Ghost, from stalking the warriors and getting away with it. Letting a light snicker roll from his lips, he lay next to Autumn, hoping not to disturb her.

Having now finally summoned the energy to crack open a sleepy eye, Autumnwind found that she wasn't alone anymore. On closer inspection of the cat lying next to her she found that it was her leader, Ghoststar.
She hastily shut her eye again, fearfull of him finding that she was merely bluffing sleep to avoid the brisk morning air.

Feeling the movement next to him, Ghoststar turned to see a fake-sleeping Autumn. "Autumn.. are you awake?" The young leader was unsure if she was awake, but considering the movement an him not being able to sleep, he needed someone to talk to.

"No. I'm still asleep."
She buried her head deeper into her pile of warm moss and groaned.
"Ugh. I hate leaf-bare."
((Sorry, I'm drawing a total blank right now. I replied to the training Hazelpaw III thread on Into the Wild by the way.))

(I know the feeling. No muse today for you. -lol-)
Ghoststar smiled and sat up, looking at Autumn. "Can't sleep? I don't like when its cold."

Having decided that there was no point fake sleeping anymore, Autumnwind groggily unburied herself from the messy pile of moss that she called a bed and turned to speak with Ghoststar.
"You don't like leaf-bare. I hate leaf-bare with a vengeance."

Knightwarrior padded into the Warriors den. She noticed that Ghoststar was sitting in there and she gave him a quizzical look. why is Ghoststar here...in the Warrior's den? Knightwarrior thought to herself.
She found an empty spot by the far edge of the den. She circled a couple of times, kneading the soft moss. She layed down curilng her tail across her nose. She peeked at the two cats across the den.

Ghost looked at the new warrior. "Can't sleep either?" he whispered loudly across the den to Knightwarrior. "Leaf-bare is an unpleasant time, and very cold. The river gets frozen, which isn't good for RiverClan." While grumbling, the brown tom winked, trying to get something out his eye.

"G' morning Knightwarrior." Autumnwind mewed through a yawn. She got up and stretched her front legs, enjoying the faint clicking sound that they made.
Now seemingly satisfyed that she was now ready to move, if slowly, Autumn padded out of the den to go and find her breakfast.
"You'll have to excuse me, the fresh kill pile is calling."

Ghoststar watched Amber go. The day had begun, earlier then he would have liked. "Patrol will be back soon," he grumbled to himself. Turning over to face Knightwarrior, he brushed off his paws, that were dirty with little sticks of hay.

"What are you doing in here Ghoststar?" she asked mildly. Her eyes were slits as she studied her leader. "Need some of us to go hunting?"

Ghoststar shrugged. "No, the hunting is fine, as Autumn said. It was cold in my den. I felt lonely, and decided to come in here. You know, I prefer the warriors den. It is warmer and much more comfortable." Whether that was the real reason, Ghoststar, himself, was unsure. Trying to persuade himself it was, he left it at that.

"I believe that," she said, her eyes still hooded mysteriously. She curled tighter into a ball and sneezed. She shook her head and flicked the tip of her tail. "So much warmer."

Ghoststar smiled. "I know. Quite chilly. Reminds me of the day I was punished as an apprentice, for being too pompous and saying I could stand the cold. I was punished by having to work in the cold all day." He chuckled, remembering Willowpelt, who had given the order.
