Weaselshadow padded up to her den. Her long tail wrapped around an old vine that hung in the entrance since summer. She leaned on the hard wood wall of the cabin-like den and sighed. She loved leafbare and the snow that shivered and twinkled like diamond falling from the sky, and the ice that shimmered under her frozen pads, reflecting the sky and trees. But she loved newleaf most, with it's flowers and new growth. Not to mention the adorable kits with their over sized heads and soft fluffy pelts. She smiled at the thought kits that she would never be allowed to have. She shook her head and turned her attention to her herbs, the reason she had come to her den while the day was bright. Sidling down, she carfully checked the herbs that lay in bunches, wrapped in vines to keep them from scattering. She grinned and scanned the herbs for any signs of browning and decaying. A little skimpy on the catnip. She thought. That wasn't so bad though, it preserved pretty well under the snow.

Melodysong presented herself into the medicine's cat den slowly, limping with a brown and painful splinter in her greyish pads. The pads were scalely and ragged, large clumps of dust- like dirt were wedged uder her whiteish silver claws. The thorn was rather large. You could see mostly on the up right position, the white part of her paw, but there was a stubby part you could barely see on the bottom of the pad. It was painful to walk, or lean weight on her paw, and so she finally convinced herself to see Weaselfshaadow, the RiverClan medicine cat. She would take it out. The dry blood was being covered by new blood as she contuined, her sillhuotte becoming clearer than a dark outline.
'Weaselshadow, I have a thorn in my paw.'
She was laughing, despite the chilling pain creeping up her spine.

Weaselshadow flicked her tail in greeting, for she was already chewing a mouth full of marigold. Then she spat it out on the ground and reached out to wrap some cobweb on her paw. the cobwebs were a bit old too, but they would do the job. After collecting a fare amount, she went over to the leader. " How did you get this?" She mewed. She clamped her jaws down on the torn. She felt the end of it compress as she sank her fangs in. " Dis is gona ert a bit." She mumbled awkwardly. Quickly she yanked back on the thorn, pulling it out cleanly. She then rubbed her marigold into the cut and wrapped the cobweb around Melodystar's bleeding pad. She was careful not to tug to hard and damage a vein. " Their" she breathed " It might be a bit sore, but it should heal quickly

Melodysong let her pure white pelt fluff out. It really hurt. She let out a small whimper. But other than that, she didn't show her pain, that Melodysong felt. Her size doubled, and than she relaxed slowly. A vague amount of deep scarlet colore soaked through it a little. Melodysong looked down one more time, before thanking her medicine cat, Weaselshadow, and meant it too.
"Thanks."
She mewed softly. She totally forgot to answer her first answer with all the pain that was eating at her paw, but just then, the voice made it's way through her head. Her mind flashed back to her looking around the river.
"I was hunting."
She began her half truthed story.
"And I sort of hopped a little to far, landing in the thorn bush. It really hurt! I'll admit that. It was hard walking back here, and It took a while, I'll tell you that!"
She grinned at herself, her blue an green eyes laughing at herself.

Weaselshadow smiled quietly. She could tell that the thorn had dug deeply into Melodystar's paw. The blood had been flowing quickly, so she had paced an extra sheet of cobwebs around it. Her own paws had smears of blood on them from placing the webs on the wounded paw of the leader.
Weaselshadow slowly cleaned the red liquid off of her own red tinted pelt, and licked gently between her pads. The sharp spice of herbs danced on her tongue and zinging her tastebuds. She had to bite her tongue to keep from spatting out the foul taste of wild garlic out of her mouth. Her fangs reflected a shaft of light that broke through a branch swaying in front of the cabin-like medicine cat den. Her pink tongue rolled inward as she drew a large breathe of air.
She turned and quickly sorted through her herbs looking for some Poppy seed to ease the leaders pain. Her paws scrambled along the carfully placed rows of herbs until she came upon the poppy seeds, placed snugly between the catnip and marigold-garlic poultice. Nodding slowly she gripped the head of seeds between her teeth and turned back to Melodystar. "Here, eat these."
